Dear all ,

Once in Los Roques Islands ( 1999 ) - Venezuela i had the incredible luck to catch a fresh dead Voluta musica 47 mm. At the first glance i did not realize that i had collect a very special one. It is white in color with golden spots. I asked a french dealer that is specialized in caribbean specimens, and he told me that this is a rare color variant Voluta musica forma damula Dall,1907. Its habitat range goes from Los Roques Isl. till Bonaire.

This french dealer has one specimen in his collection that was caught in Los Roques Isl. (1993).

I thought that this was an albino specimen, but since i had not had a comparisson term , it was really a big mistery to me.

Sounds like 'a right result' as we say here in England, well done. Any chance of a picture?
