I bought a whole box of seashell at an estate sell. Most of them were boxed and tag giving a name date and place. But a few of them the papers where missing on them and I was hoping you could help me identify them.
Shell 1 is 3 3/4 in. long and 2 in. wide

Hi Deanne, shell #1 looks like Cypraea cervus, the Deer Cowry from the Northern Caribbean, but it is very worn and could possibly be C. zebra or C. cervinetta. Do you know where it is from?
Shell #2 Looks like Turbo argyrostoma, the Silver-mouthed Turban  from the Indo-Pacific region.
Shell #3 is Cypraecassis testiculus, the Reticulated Cowry-helmet from the Caribbean.

No I don't know where it from. The paper was missing on these. But they are part of a whole collection I bought. The shells came from all over the world. There's some from Africa the Philippines Florida Australia and some of the little pappers say from the George Jacobs collection. So I guess it was his collection at one time.
